At long last, a dream of mine came true on Tuesday. I finally had the opportunity to visit Augusta National, the site of the annual Masters golf tournament in Augusta, GA. For those unfamiliar with the course, it is arguably mecca for golf fans and certainly a highlight for anyone who loves the game. Unfortunately, getting a ticket isn’t easy and typically go for much more than face value.
Well a friend of a friend had an extra ticket this year and somehow I was invited to go. It was a Tuesday ticket for the practice round but a chance to walk the course and be there in person was all I really wanted. We also got extremely fortunate with regards to the weather since Monday and Wednesday were rained out.
I won’t bore you with the details but I will say that if you’re even a casual golf fan, you should definitely find a way to go. The TV really doesn’t do the course justice in terms of the terrain but the entire staff working the event is top notch. It really is a magical place.
